History

Gateway Freedom Church started in 1985 under the leadership of Peter Doherty.  In those days the church was known as Gateway Christian Fellowship.  Peter had a vision for a church that was a "community serving the community" and for a church building that was a place where the love of God was practically shown 7 days a week.

Thanks to the sacrificial giving of many people, the donation of many generous gifts and grants and the loving provision of Father God, we were able to purchase the site at Perry Road in 2002.

In 2005, we were delighted to open the Gateway Centre as a church and community resource.
