Luncheon Club

The Gateway Luncheon Club for senior citizens was launched in April 2006 and has been a great success.  The club meets weekly on Wednesdays (during term time) and aims to provide a nutritious and tasty meal, followed by tea or coffee, freshly prepared by the resident chef, and served in inviting and comfortable surroundings.  The meal is followed by an activity - often bingo or a quiz and the winner receives a free meal on their next visit.

Run by a group of dedicated volunteers, their aim is to provide a first class service from the moment the person enters the centre.  The saying goes the proof of the pudding is in the eating and satisfied customers return week after week, not just for the delicious food but also for the lively conversation, good fun and warm company.

Outings are planned for some of the Wednesdays that fall during the school holidays.

Our hope and prayer for the future of the Luncheon Club is, that it will continue to be a success, increase to more days of the week, and develop, such that other unmet needs of senior citizens in the community can be catered for.  Watch this space.
